Thank you, Jeanne (Youssef's mum) who brought two caterpillars and a chrysalis to class. Youssef has swan plants at his house with Monarch butterflies. We were very fascinated to hear about the Life Cycle of Monarch Butterflies. Did you know, it is best to only have 2 -3 caterpillars on a swan plant as the caterpillars get very hungry and if they are too many the whole plant will be eaten. It takes about 14 - 21 days for the pupa to hatch. We can't wait to see the one in our classroom hatch.
